Taylor Swift knows kindness never goes out of style.

The “Wildest Dreams” singer mailed handwritten letters and signed guitars to an 8-year-old fan and her next-door neighbor after a wholesome interaction between them involving her music went viral on social media last month.

In the TikTok, 8-year-old Madeline can be seen asking her musician neighbor Ethan Hayes, 26, to please play a Taylor Swift song by throwing a paper airplane over their shared fence. After he reads the note, Ethan proceeds to perform Swift’s 2008 hit “Love Story” as Madeline sings along.

The post immediately took off online, amassing almost half a million likes since it was first posted on April 23 and even ending up on Swift’s radar. Ethan confirmed to PEOPLE that the 14-time Grammy winner’s team personally reached out to him on social media after it was published.

“They're like, ‘Hey, Taylor saw your video. We want to send you something. Don't tell anyone until it gets there,’” he recalled. “I was expecting maybe a signed poster or something. And then she sent us guitars, which is insane.”

Speaking with PEOPLE, Madeline’s stepfather Russell explained that the family never expected the adorable moment to go viral.

“There was really no expectation at all going into it,” he said. “It was just a cute moment she just wanted to share with her friends. Next thing you know, we wake up in the morning and there's like 10,000, 15,000, 20,000 [views]. And we're like, ‘Oh wow.’”

Ethan, a full-time musician, added that the clip has also helped promote him as an artist, too. “I've gained thousands of followers, which is always really great," he said. "We haven't seen one single negative comment, which I think is really, really rare, just a really wholesome situation that I'm really grateful to be a part of.”

When asked by the outlet if she’d like to say anything to Swift, Madeline replied, “Thank you.”

Edge rusher Micah Parsons is not likely to participate in training camp when the Packers start daily preseason workouts, head coach Matt LaFleur said after the team's Wednesday OTA practice.

Parsons is five months into his recovery from a torn ACL and sparked debate about his rapid progress in a social media post of his workouts in sand.

Green Bay lost Parsons at Denver on December 14 in a non-contact injury. He broke through pass protection on the right side of the Broncos' line and fell to the turf as his left knee buckled two steps shy of sacking Denver's Bo Nix.

Parsons, who has 65 career sacks in five NFL campaigns, turned 27 on Tuesday as the Packers began organized team activities. Parsons and running back Josh Jacobs, who was taken into custody because of an alleged domestic violence incident but released without being formally charged, were the only two veterans not present for the Packers.

LaFleur said tight end Tucker Kraft, also returning from an ACL tear, is ahead of Parsons' pace due to the timing of his injury in early November.

He could be back before or during training camp.

Right tackle Zach Tom, who suffered a torn patella tendon in the Dec. 14 loss to the Broncos, likely won't return to on-field workouts until training camp.

Max Homa is changing caddies again.

The six-time PGA Tour winner split with veteran caddie Lance Bennett following a missed cut at the PGA Championship. Homa is expected to have Peter Pappageorge, a friend who registered as his caddie on Wednesday, on the bag this week at the Charles Schwab Challenge, the PGA Tour stop at Fort Worth, Texas.

Max Homa and caddie Lance Bennett look on from the 13th tee during the first round of the 2025 John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run.

Bennett, who caddied for Tiger Woods in 2024 before he was sidelined by injury, joined Homa nearly a year ago at the RBC Canadian Open after Homa parted ways with Bill Harke. Prior to that, Homa had a decade-long partnership with Joe Greiner, one of his childhood best friends. [They remain close to this day.] Greiner got a win last year at the RBC Heritage, filling in for Justin Thomas, bounced from doing a short stint with Collin Morikawa to settling in this season with Akshay Bhatia, who won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March.

Bennett had been on the bag for Michael Thorbjornsen prior to Homa, before Thorbjornsen hired J.J. Jakovac. Bennett has caddied in the past for Matt Kuchar, Sungjae Im and Davis Riley, among others, as well as on the LPGA Tour.

Homa, 35, enters the week No. 74 in the FedEx Cup standings. He’s made nine cuts in 13 starts this season, including one top 10 at the Masters. Homa, who ascended as high as No. 5 in the Official World Golf Ranking, enters the week at No. 123.

One day after the 64-year-old comedian got candid with fans on Substack about her recent cosmetic surgery, O'Donnell is making herself even more vulnerable by sharing side-by-side photos from before and after her facelift.

In an Instagram post captioned "THE B4 & AFTER," O'Donnell shared two snaps of her face on Wednesday. She also encouraged followers to read her essay on Substack, which divulges the story behind the procedure.

On Tuesday, O'Donnell announced on Instagram that she underwent a lower deep plane facelift and, in her Substack post, explained how she arrived at the decision despite years of publicly condemning plastic surgery.

*The View* alum began by explaining that she had "assigned myself as head of all women who would never" get a facelift and spoke often about being "morally" opposed to the procedure because she felt it was "a betrayal" of "feminism," "aging," and "our team of women worldwide."

But she began to soften her position after losing 50 pounds. O'Donnell wrote that the dramatic weight loss resulted in additional wrinkles on her face.

"I'd look in the mirror and think, this isn't aging, this is melting with intention," she wrote, adding that she soon started "considering something" that she "swore" never to do.

Along with her own moral oppositions, O'Donnell recounted facing pushback from her teenage child, Clay. "Young women look up to you," O'Donnell recalls Clay saying. "I wouldn't be able to respect you if you did it."

In her post, O'Donnell acknowledged that this is something that resonated with her — which brought her to an important realization.

"If I'm teaching Clay anything," O'Donnell wrote on Substack, "it can't be that my body belongs to an idea either. Even a good idea. Even feminism. Because that's still not freedom — that's just a different authority telling you what you're allowed to do with your own face."

Th*e **League of Their Own* star has voiced skepticism over the need for cosmetic surgery and frequently said she never felt the need to undergo such procedures herself. In a 2021 interview with *Vulture*, O'Donnell argued that avoiding surgery had benefitted her career.

"I always knew as an actress that when I got into my 60s, I would be playing the Geraldine Page roles," she said. "I wasn't going to have plastic surgery. I was going to look the way a woman my age should look, and I always thought that would be a blessing in my older age. I would get to play the Colleen Dewhurst roles. That has turned out to be true. I'm getting all this acting work now that I'm closing in on 60."

O'Donnell, who got the facelift in January, wrote in her essay that she was shocked when no one seemed to notice.

"Not one person. Not a friend, not a stranger, not even people who owe me compliments," she wrote. "My teen daughter has not said a word. Nothing."

She added, "I went through a full existential feminist crisis, had my face and neck surgically altered, and the result is… zippo. Which honestly is the best possible outcome."

Kevin Hart is defending the comedian behind one of the most shocking jokes at his Netflix roast.

In an interview on "The Breakfast Club," the "Jumanji" star, 46, addressed the backlash some of the participants in Netflix's "Roast of Kevin Hart" have faced for their material. In particular, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe has been criticized for a joke about how George Floyd, who was killed by former police officer Derek Chauvin in 2020, is "looking up at us all, laughing so hard that he can't breathe."

Hart said on "The Breakfast Club" that while Hinchcliffe's joke about Floyd wasn't "tasteful," he "wasn't shocked," adding that Hinchcliffe "arguably had the best set, or one of the best sets," of the roast.

Kevin Hart attends The Roast of Kevin Hart on May 10, 2026, in Inglewood, California.

"Tony told a joke," he said. "It wasn't a tasteful joke to us. We didn't like it. OK. ... We move on. I don't understand why we stand on a hill, and it becomes this big thing ... It doesn't have to be that. It literally is, either you're a fan of this level of content or you're not. And if you're not a fan, then you don't watch it."

Chelsea Handler, The Rock lead Hart burns at 'Roast of Kevin Hart'

Pointing to other shocking jokes that were made at the roast, including one from Pete Davidson about the killing of Charlie Kirk, Hart also said, "Would I tell those jokes? No. But do I get why they're being told? Yes. I'm not looking at Pete crazy. I'm not looking at Tony crazy. I know what you're going to do. I know your style of comedy."

Terrence Floyd, George Floyd's brother, previously told "The Breakfast Club" host Loren LoRosa that Hart should have brought "Will Smith energy" to the roast by pushing back on Hinchcliffe's joke "right then and there."

But in his "Breakfast Club" interview, Hart defended himself by saying there was "nothing" he could have done in the moment. He also emphasized that he isn't the one who made the joke, arguing he shouldn't be blamed for it.

"It's a live production," Hart said. "I'm not compromising the live production for a reaction of what? What do you want me to do? I'm going to drag him off? You want me to fight afterwards? That's not what I agreed to do."

Netflix's "Roast of Kevin Hart" was hosted by Shane Gillis, who also drew criticism for some of his material, including jokes about lynching and about the death of comedian Sheryl Underwood's husband. Underwood was in the roast's lineup.

Chelsea Handler, another one of the participants in the roast, criticized the "gross" and "disgusting" jokes made at the event while appearing on the "Funny Knowing You" podcast. She criticized Gillis and Hinchcliffe, in particular.

"People are like, 'It's a roast. You go for it,'" she said. "I'm like, 'You can go for it without being gross.'"

Nikki Glaser, who has delivered a number of shocking jokes at comedy roasts over the years but did not participate in the Hart event, has also weighed in. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the American Music Awards, Glaser said she "loved watching" the roast but noted there was "some stuff that I didn't love," without naming names.

"I don't believe that jokes can't be made that are racist jokes, ironically racist jokes," she told ET. "The problem is not that it's racist. It's that ... if you really want to do a joke, you've got to find a way to make it make sense."

As with any streaming service, the movies vary in quality, but Peacock's wide variety of great titles is remarkable, from cult horror classics like *Black Christmas* (1974) and *Night of the Living Dead* (1968) to recent Oscar-nominated dramas like *Conclave* (2024) and *Hamnet* (2025), alongside crowdpleasers like *Shrek* (2001) and *The Hunger Games* franchise.

This slasher classic still holds up as one of the most chilling horror films of all time. A group of sorority sisters' good tidings of comfort and joy are interrupted by repeated profane phone calls, leading to one of them being murdered in the attic. This kicks off a horrifying series of events as they try in vain to get the police to determine the source of the call while they are picked off one by one. There have been two attempts at remaking *Black Christmas* in the 21st century, but neither has approached the level of paranoia and dread of the '70s original. —*Kevin Jacobsen*

Bridget Jones is back for one last hurrah, with this decidedly more poignant, Emmy-nominated final installment in the franchise. Renée Zellweger reprises her role as the titular plucky TV producer, who is now the mother of two children and mourning the unexpected death of her husband, Mark Darcy (Colin Firth). Finally ready to start dating again, she enters into a romance with a younger man (Leo Woodall) while also finding herself drawn to one of her son's teachers (Chiwetel Ejiofor). *Mad About the Boy* is much more mature compared to its predecessors, though it retains much of the series' cheeky humor, and Zellweger's performance remains a highlight. —*K.J.*

This Oscar-winning papal drama is far more thrilling and less stuffy than it may seem at first glance. After the death of the Pope, the Dean of the College of Cardinals (Ralph Fiennes) leads a conclave to select his successor, and what follows is a juicy battle for power, with shocking revelations that compete with the best of reality TV. Who is the woman who spent her life with William Shakespeare? How did she handle the grief of losing their son, Hamnet? And how did this unspeakable loss help inspire one of the greatest plays ever written? Maggie O'Farrell speculated on each of these questions in her gorgeous 2020 novel, *Hamnet*, and Chloé Zhao's adaptation retains its quiet power, telling the story of Agnes (Jessie Buckley) as she grapples with love, life, and death. Quentin Tarantino paid tribute to the Blaxploitation films he grew up watching in the ‘70s with this underrated gem in his filmography. Fittingly, he cast one of the most beloved stars of the era, Pam Grier, to play the title role of Jackie Brown, a flight attendant who also smuggles money from Mexico to America for arms dealer Ordell Robbie (Samuel L. Jackson). After Jackie is caught and arrested, she suspects that Ordell will try to eliminate her, leading her to devise an elaborate plan with her bail bondsman (Robert Forster) to not only evade capture but also abscond with Ordell’s money.

Following the explosive success of *Pulp Fiction*, audiences in 1997 may have been thrown off by the more deliberate pace of *Jackie Brown*, but the sincere emotional core and lived-in performances by Grier and Forster help it only get better with age. —*K.J.*

And God forbid anyone who poses even a minor threat to Cady. EW's critic calls *M3GAN* "a scampering Blumhouse caper that turns out to be blithely self-aware, negligibly jump-scary, and mostly very fun," and audiences seemed to agree — the film grossed nearly $100 million at the U.S. box office. —*K.J.*

*Memento* was Christopher Nolan's first mainstream foray into noodling with notions of time. Guy Pearce plays Leonard Shelby, a man who suffers from amnesia following the murder of his wife. Seeking justice, Leonard tries to make sense of his life while his failing short-term memory prompts him to tattoo important information on his body and take photographs with a Polaroid camera.**** The film cleverly uses both chronological and nonlinear editing interchangeably, putting the viewer in the protagonist's mind as we try to put together an elaborate puzzle. With a budget just over $100,000, George Romero's indie horror masterpiece transformed the zombie genre, reshaping these once-subjugated creatures into autonomous, flesh-craving fiends while forever etching them into pop culture (and paving the way for future undead favorites like *The Walking Dead*). Revolving around a group of unlikely survivors holed up in an abandoned farmhouse, this film unravels as they fend off an onslaught of ravenous ghouls storming the area. *Night of the Living Dead* didn't just make cinematic history; it gnawed its way into the collective consciousness, birthing a thriving franchise with five sequels from 1978 to 2009, which all carry Romero's iconic directorial touch. *—James Mercadante*

Point Break (1991)

*Point Break* is an early-'90s film through and through, a cops and robbers crime drama with some of the hottest actors of the era that's also a lot about surfing. Keanu Reeves stars as the brilliantly named Johnny Utah, a detective tasked with going undercover to bust a group of surf-loving bank robbers. But, as Johnny immerses himself in that particular subculture, he finds himself curiously drawn to it, particularly because of the group's charismatic leader, Bodhi (Patrick Swayze).**** Critics were mixed at the time (EW's own gave it a C+), but, as time has passed, we've come to appreciate its earnest sensibilities and director Kathryn Bigelow's thoughtful examination of male friendships, while still delivering as traditional popcorn entertainment. —*K.J.*

Once upon a time, in a swamp far, far away, Mike Myers graced us by voicing DreamWorks' misanthropic ogre. He was living the dream, basking in the solitude of his boggy sanctuary, until a horde of storybook creatures — a talking donkey, three little pigs, seven dwarves, and more — decide to crash the party after being ousted from the kingdom by Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow). To reclaim his peace and quiet, Shrek must rescue a certain red-haired princess, all for the sake of Farquaad's romantic fantasies. A fairy tale that brims with unexpected friendships, laugh-out-loud moments, and enough layers to rival an onion, *Shrek* is an animated delight you just can't ogre-look. —*J.M.***** Where to watch *Shrek*: Peacock******EW grade:** A–******Directors:** Andrew Adamson, Vicky Jenson******Cast:** Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, John Lithgow**

*Tár* is a psychological drama so well written that it convinced some viewers its protagonist was real. The spellbinding film centers on Lydia Tár (Cate Blanchett), a celebrated conductor and instructor whose life unravels after damning allegations come out regarding her misbehavior with students. Writer-director Todd Field skillfully explores complex themes, from power dynamics to cancel culture and the generational divide, without ever feeling heavy-handed. The film earned widespread acclaim from critics (including EW's own), and received six Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Blanchett's towering performance. —*K.J.*

- Mackenzie Shirilla's alleged ex-girlfriend, Shyann Topping, speaks out about her relationship with *The Crash *subject and shares why they split.

- Topping's relationship with Shirilla "fizzled" after she did some research into the details of the fatal crash that killed Shirilla's boyfriend and their friend, she told PEOPLE.

- "It was crazy because after I found out [the details] of her case, and we stopped talking to each other and it fizzled out, people started texting me and saying crazy stuff to me," Topping alleges.

Another fellow inmate of Mackenzie Shirilla is speaking out about her relationship with the subject of the Netflix documentary *The Crash*, but this one claims she was much closer to Shirilla.

*The Crash* focused on the July 2022 car crash that killed Shirilla's boyfriend, Dominic Russo, and their friend, Davion Flanagan, and the journey to the August 2023 conviction that led to Shirilla currently serving two concurrent life prison sentences with the possibility of parole after 15 years.

Former inmate Shyann Topping claimed to PEOPLE in an interview published Tuesday that she and the Shirilla began dating shortly after the latter began serving her sentence at the Ohio Reformatory for Women, sharing that the pair first met on the outdoor track at the facility.

"When it started off we were good," Topping said to the outlet. We were just walking the track, she was smiling, because in prison —two weeks in prison feels like two months. All you're doing is seeing the same people every single day, 24 hours a day."

Topping claimed that it was around by the "second or third day" of their relationship that Shirilla's attitude took a turn. Topping said that Shirilla would tell her: "Why aren't you touching me? I want you to be all over me. I want you to be out here for everyone in the yard to see me."

Despite any misgivings, Topping said she continued her relationship with Shirilla after she was released from prison, but that things hit a road bump when Topping dug into the details of the incident resulting in Russo and Flanagan's deaths.

"When I was in [prison], I honestly believed maybe she's not guilty because of the limited information I had," Topping told the outlet, saying that she didn't know about the crash prior to meeting Mackenzie because she was already behind bars. "When I first got out [of prison] I was like, 'Oh, they don't know what this girl's been through.'"

While Topping said she left prison ready to "fight for [Mackenzie's] release" and "be an advocate" for her case, she claimed that fell through once she learned more about the crash.

"And then I started going through everything and seeing the evidence and I started thinking about her and I realized, 'Oh my God, maybe she's not a good person,'" she added.

Topping tried to talk to Shirilla about her questions, but she provided unsatisfactory answers, the former inmate said. Then, in August 2025, Topping decided to post a series of videos to her TikTok account detailing their relationship and, according to her, effectively ended their relationship.

Shortly after that first video went live on Aug. 12, she began to receive anonymous threats that made her fear for her safety, Topping told PEOPLE.

"It was crazy because after I found out [the details] of her case and we stopped talking to each other and it fizzled out, people started texting me and saying crazy stuff to me," Topping said, alleging that some of the texts were just her mother's name or her home address.

Topping told the outlet that she believes the texts came from inmates who were locked up with Mackenzie at the time. Regardless of where they came from, Topping said that the texts were enough to stop her from posting after her initial three posts. She didn't post to TikTok again until May 17, following the release of *The Crash*. The latest videos are continuations of Topping's telling of their relationship.

** contacted the Office of Public Defender of Cuyahoga County, where Shirilla's public defender practices, and did not receive an immediate response.

Since *The Crash*'s debut on May 15, both true crime obsessives and curious onlookers have dissected the doc, which revisits the devastating case and its aftermath. *The Crash* also includes the first on-camera interview with Shirilla, who will be eligible for parole in 2037.

"It's really hard every day in here," Shirilla says in *The Crash*. "I try to wake up and be the best person I can be every day, stay out of trouble. There's not a moment that doesn't pass where I don't think about [Russo and Flanagan]."

*The Crash* is available to stream on Netflix.
