ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Rookie Sal Stewart homered, doubled, stole a base and scored twice as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Tampa Bay Rays 6-1 on Monday night for their fourth straight win.

Stewart put Cincinnati on the board with a two-run homer in the first inning, ending Jesse Scholtens' scoreless streak to start the season at 9 2/3 innings.

With his eighth homer, Stewart matched Munetaka Murakami of the Chicago White Sox for the lead among major league rookies and St. Louis' Jordan Walker for the National League lead. Stewart has the rookie lead in RBIs (21) and extra-base hits (13).

The 23-year-old first baseman also snagged a line drive with the bases loaded for the final out.

Rhett Lowder (3-1) needed 33 pitches to get through the first inning, issuing a bases-loaded walk to Yandy Díaz. He settled in from there, allowing five hits and two walks in six innings.

Three relievers worked an inning apiece for Cincinnati. The Reds entered the game with a bullpen ERA of 2.31, the best in the majors.

Scholtens (1-1) allowed five runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.

TJ Friedl doubled in the third and scored on Elly De La Cruz’s single. Eugenio Suárez added a two-run double in the sixth for Cincinnati.

In the seventh, Stewart hit a two-out double, stole third and scored on a wild pitch by Trevor Martin.

Cincinnati's Ke’Bryan Hayes ended a career-worst 0-for-33 slump with a single in the sixth, ending the longest active streak in the majors. He went 1 for 4 and is batting .071.

Up next

Right-hander Chase Burns (1-1, 2.42 ERA) starts for Cincinnati on Tuesday against Tampa Bay lefty Steven Matz (3-0, 3.80).

Katherine Pierce was a staple of the *Vampire Diaries* universe. But at one point in the series, the writers had to fight to tell more of her story.

"We had to negotiate for the right to let Nina [Dobrev] play Katherine again because the season 2 Katherine [story] had really taken everything out of her and the network was being very protective," executive producer Julie Plec says about the show's fifth season during episode 5 of *EW's Binge: The Vampire Diaries*. "[The network] and studio were being very protective and they were like, 'You can't do that anymore, you can't have Katherine.'"

On an earlier episode of the podcast, Dobrev spoke about how exhausted she was at the end of season 2, the first season in which she played both Elena and Katherine in the present day. So when it came time to make Katherine human and even introduce a third Petrova doppelgänger, the writers had to get creative. "We had to basically beg the network to let us even write story for Katherine," Plec says, noting that "the triplegänger made the whole thing worth it."

Fans will remember that season 5 featured Katherine taking over Elena's body, which meant that for a good chunk of the season, Dobrev only had one character to play. And then, eventually, Katherine met her demise, a decision that also came about following those negotiations. "I literally think we had to say we'll kill her in order to get permission to use her," Plec recalls.

Additionally, during the podcast, Plec discusses the choice to have Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) be the two characters who "die" together at the end of season 5, which led to a discussion about Bamon, the popular ship. "Bonnie and Damon had a thing in the books we had sort of always said, 'We don't buy a romantic connection between Bonnie and Damon because Damon's just done too many terrible things and Bonnie just has more integrity than that,'" Plec says. "But we wanted to service that relationship in the canon a little bit."

According to a Facebook post shared by the organization and volunteer Shawn McDonald, Flávia, 38, disappeared underwater shortly after the start of the swimming portion of the competition. Fellow competitors and lifeguards made several rescue attempts before the dive team was able to retrieve Flávia's body at around 9 a.m. local time.

“After the start, we paddled alongside swimmers, offering a hand…Then we heard a whistle. A group of younger volunteers in a kayak on the far side of the field were raising a flag, blowing a whistle, yelling for help,” recalled McDonald. “...I could see swimmers clinging to their kayak. I heard them say, ‘She went under.' …The panic and fear on their faces won't leave me for a long time.”

“I dove in immediately and began searching … After about a minute underwater, I felt her body with my foot. I surfaced, took what seemed like the deepest breath I have ever taken and went back down. She was gone,” McDonald continued. “I lost count of how many times I dove over the next hour …”

Flávia documented her triathlon pursuits on social media and had 60,700 Instagram followers at the time of her death.

The influencer was a journalism graduate and worked in communications on radio and television for a decade before transitioning into a sporting career at age 28, per O Dia.

The Marshals cast had plenty to say about those Dutton Ranch romance rumors, the relationships being explored on the Yellowstone spinoff and more.

During CBS Fest on Wednesday, April 15, Arielle Kebbel weighed in on possible Yellowstone cameos, telling Us Weekly, "[We need] all of them. We could go for some more country artists any day. [too]!"

Kebbel remained more tight-lipped about a Dutton Ranch crossover but acknowledged the "rumors."

"[For Us, the biggest challenge of filming a Yellowstone spinoff] is finding the balance of respecting the why that's already established and knowing that in that legacy, our job is to also bring these new characters forward," she explained. "So respecting what's already been built but also feeling creative and free enough to bring our own character stories forward and really hoping that people join in our world."

Meet the Cast of Kayce Dutton’s CBS Spinoff ‘Marshals’ — Including ‘Yellowstone’ Alums

Yellowstone, which aired from 2018 to 2024, introduced Us to the Dutton family. After the show came to an end in 2024, CBS expanded the TV universe with Marshals, which follows Luke Grimes' character Kayce as he leaves ranching life behind to join an elite unit of U.S. Marshals.

Then there is Paramount's Dutton Ranch, which shows Rip (Cole Hauser) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) adjusting to life in Texas. Despite being Yellowstone spinoffs, both shows are expanding with new characters such as Kebbel's Belle. There are also characters on Marshals played by Logan Marshall-Green, Ash Santos, Tatanka Means, Brecken Merrill, Mo Brings Plenty and Gil Birmingham.

As fans get more attached to the Marshals cast, they have also formed opinions on the characters. The most recent episode of the show took some by surprise when Belle's friendship with Cal (Marshall-Green) turned into more as they kissed.

"It didn't feel quick to me, certainly, because of so much they did before," Marshall-Green, 49, told Us on Wednesday. "It felt earned. I actually wasn't that surprised."

Santos, 32, meanwhile, showed support for the fictional couple, adding, "I was ready for it. I was excited when I finally saw it in the script. It was time!" Kebbel, for her part, "wasn't surprised" by the progression in the relationship either.

"The only reason I wasn't surprised was because I had a meeting with our creator before the season started and he did tell me. But we had a very good talk, and I said, 'Tell me what I , and don't tell me anything else,'" she recalled. "I didn't know that was coming, but I didn't actually know a lot of the backstory, so I liked it because there was this intersection of Arielle and Belle that knew some things, but not everything, which was very true to the story as well."

‘Marshals’ Cast: What the Stars of Kayce Dutton’s ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff Look Like in Real Life

Kebbel admitted that she didn't think Marshals was ready for Belle and Cal as a couple yet, noting, "We're still establishing the team [and] the team environment. Obviously, this kiss throws a whole new layer of awkwardness and feelings into the mix. But I think what's great about both of them is that they put work first. Where they kind of have similarities or understand one another is that they're struggling with the balance between work and family because they care about both so much. So I think that's the layers we're going to see uncovered in future episodes."

There is also the possible connection with Kayce and Andrea (Santos).

"I didn't even go there at first either. Other people brought it up to me and I was like, "Whoa! OK." But I think it's really interesting to see that relationship," she admitted to Us. "They are polar opposites."

She concluded: "I have [seen edits of them]. There's a girl on TikTok. She makes so many edits. She's doing the Lord's work, honey. The edits are so good."

Marshals airs on CBS Sundays at 8 p.m. ET.

Come and knock on our door — to find out what happened to the cast of *Three’s Company*.

The setup is classic sitcom madcap logic: Jack Tripper (John Ritter) wakes up in the apartment of two women the night after a party. It just so happens that they need a new roommate, and he knows how to cook. The only problem is… well, a single man living with two single women? In the ’70s? Solution: Jack has to convince the landlords that this isn’t a throuple situation — by pretending he’s gay.

The premise was very of its time, but *Three’s Company *(which was based on a British sitcom) carried itself with a great deal of charm, humor, and smarts. The chemistry between Ritter, Joyce DeWitt, and Suzanne Somers made it work — and Ritter became known as one of the best physical comedians in the business.

The show also helped normalize the idea of men and women living together platonically. The trio integrate their social lives and financial challenges while working through the miscommunications, temptations, and complications of their unique situation. It was a consistent hit for most of its eight-season run.

With 40 years and counting since the finale aired, now’s as good a time as any to look back at the cast of *Three’s Company*.

John Ritter (Jack Tripper)

Two images of John Ritter shown side by side one from his earlier career and one taken later in life

John Ritter as Jack Tripper; Ritter in Beverly Hills in 2003.

John Ritter played the kind-hearted protagonist Jack.

Ritter received an Emmy and Golden Globe for his performance, and practically became a full-time leading man on television. Not only did he continue on as Jack for the sequel series *Three’s a Crowd, *but he also headlined the cop dramedy *Hooperman.* Ritter followed it up with *Harts Afire*, starring opposite Markie Post.

Outside his sitcom wheelhouse, he played the adult version of Ben Hanscom in the original miniseries adaptation of Stephen King’s *IT *(1990), and toplined the *Problem Child *franchise. Later in his career,  he had memorable big-screen supporting roles in *Sling Blade *(1996) and *Bad Santa *(2003).

His final starring role was as on ABC's *8 Simple Rules*. In the midst of rehearsals for a season 2 episode in 2003, he suffered an aortic dissection and died hours later. He was 54 years old.

The comic actor was survived by his wife, actress Amy Yasbeck, and four children, including three from his previous marriage.

Ritter’s legacy lives on, as evidenced by his widow’s description of the cast at a 2025 live table read of a *Three’s Company *episode to benefit the John Ritter Foundation.

“Most of them knew John personally and the ones that didn’t completely, I knew them or they completely embodied the spirit of John’s personality and the personality of that show,” she told PEOPLE in 2025. “You could tell they all had watched it since they were little kids just by the way they brought themselves to it.”

Suzanne Somers (Chrissy Snow)

Suzanne Somers shown in two juxtaposed portraits from different periods of her life

Suzanne Somers as Chrissy Snow; Somers at Clive Davis' 90th birthday in 2022.

On paper, Chrissy was a stereotypical ditzy blonde, but Suzanne Somers played her with charm and honesty, giving the character an extra dimension.

Somers was one of the most popular actresses on television, but had a falling-out with producers when she asked for a pay raise closer to Ritter’s salary. As such, she got fired at the end of season 4 — at the height of her sitcom fame.

As she’s expressed in later years, however, it may have been a blessing in disguise, what with the fitness and skincare empire she went on to build.

“I probably would have never left network series... I would have kept on going and probably been in every sitcom after that were it not to end that way it ended. But I was ostracized so I went away,” she told PEOPLE in 2020. “That was the great thing about being fired… I would have never been able to do what I do now.”

She still maintained an acting career, landing another starring sitcom role on the modern *Brady Bunch *copycat *Step by Step*. During this time, the California native grew her platform, becoming a television host and author of 14 bestselling books. She was also the spokesperson for ThighMaster.

The actress even starred as herself in the TV movie *Keeping Secrets *(1991), based on her autobiography.

Somers died in 2023 after a recurrence of breast cancer. She was survived by her husband, TV host Alan Hamel, and a son from her first marriage.

Here's why we'll remember John Ritter

John Ritter

Joyce DeWitt (Janet Wood)

Two pictures of Joyce DeWitt one from her younger acting days and another more recent

Joyce DeWitt as Janet Wood; DeWitt at an event for the John Ritter Foundation in 2024.

Joyce DeWitt played the smart, sensible, down-to-earth member of the trio, Janet.

She and Somers had a falling out when the latter left *Three’s Company*, but finally reunited decades later on Somers' talk show *Suzanne Somers Breaking Through*.

“Whenever something about *Three’s Company* comes up,” DeWitt said, “I have relentlessly said that it is my opinion that the only reason *Three’s Company* is worth remembering is that it created an opportunity for all of us to laugh together, to celebrate joy.”

Once *Three’s Company *ended, Dewitt largely stayed out of the Hollywood spotlight. She made a handful of guest appearances on TV, including in episodes of *Cybill* and *Living Single*, while also maintaining a stage career.

More recently, she appeared in small movies like *The Savant *(2019) and *Ask Me to Dance *(2022).

Norman Fell (Stanley Roper)

Norman Fell depicted in two different contexts one casual and one formal

Norman Fell as Stanley Roper; Fell at the "For the Boys" premiere in 1991.

Norman Fell portrayed crotchety landlord Mr. Roper, who only let Jack stay in the apartment because he thought he was gay.

“The guy was an absolute nut,” he told *Entertainment Tonight* about his character. “He was really [the] low man on the totem pole and that was great for him because they wrote very well.”

Fell won a Golden Globe for his performance and even led a spinoff, *The Ropers*. After departing *Three’s Company*, he landed another sitcom lead on *Teachers Only*, alongside Lynn Redgrave and Jean Smart, before moving on to a career as a supporting player and guest star. He appeared in everything from *Magnum P.I. *and *Matlock *to *The Twilight Zone*.

At the tail end of his career, he parodied his most famous character on both *The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air *and *Ellen*.

Fell was married three times and had three children prior to his death in 1998 at 74 years old.

Audra Lindley (Helen Roper)

Audra Lindley in two sidebyside photos showcasing her at different times in her career

Audra Lindley as Helen Roper; Lindley in a CBS promo in 1997.

As Helen Roper, Audra Lindley was the more open-minded, fun-loving, and snarky landlord. She earned a Golden Globe nomination for her performance.

She and Fell became popular for their perpetual bickering and comedic insults, developing such good combative chemistry that they got their own spinoff, *The Ropers*.

Lindley was a successful soap opera star long before her time on *Three’s Company*, with major roles on *From These Roots*, *Search for Tomorrow*, and *Another World*. She went on to graduate to the big screen as Cybill Shepherd’s mother in the classic rom-com *The Heartbreak Kid *(1972).

After *Three’s Company*, Lindley had key supporting roles in *Desert Hearts *(1985) and *Troop Beverly Hills *(1989). You may also remember her memorable appearance as Phoebe’s grandmother on *Friends*.

Lindley had five children with Hardy Ulm, to whom she was married from 1943 until his 1970 death. The veteran actress died from leukemia complications in 1997 at age 79.

Richard Kline (Larry Dallas)

Richard Kline younger on the left and older on the right in sidebyside photos

Richard Kline as Larry Dallas; Kline at a John Ritter Foundation event in 2022.

Richard Kline played Jack’s charismatic playboy pal Larry, who occasionally gets Jack into a bit of trouble — especially when it comes to pursuing women.

Despite the character’s sleazy ways, the writers made sure to let the live audience know he still had a good heart.

“Once [the writers] get to know Larry, then they write for Larry,” Kline said in a 2025 interview.

“They write to those strengths and they wrote to the strength that I was supposedly a player and always borrowing money… Every taping night they would introduce, ‘And here he is: the used car salesman with a heart of gold Richard Kline,’ so there's nothing really sinister about my character. He was just needy.”

Kline became the only cast member aside from Ritter to appear on both of *Three’s Company *spinoffs, *The Ropers *and *Three’s a Crowd*. He went on to become a reliable guest player on the small screen, booking episodes of *Murder, She Wrote*, *Hill Street Blues*, *St. Elsewhere*, *Punky Brewster*, and *Family Matters*, among others.

He was a regular on the short-lived sitcoms *Noah Knows Best* and *Inside Schwartz* before landing recurring parts on *The Americans *and *Blue Bloods*.

Kline has been married to Beverly Osgoode since 2002. He has a daughter from a prior marriage.

Don Knotts (Ralph Furley)

Two images of Don Knotts showing him at different stages of his life

Don Knotts as Mr. Furley; Knotts at the TV Land Awards in 2004.

After the Ropers sold their apartment building, Don Knotts arrived as the new landlord, Mr. Furley. The character was very much a successor to Stanley Roper — a hard-nosed, strict landlord.

“Norman Fell was playing the landlord and they were going to put him and [Audra Lindley]… in a series of their own and they needed a new landlord so they thought of me,” Knotts recalled in an interview. “So when I came in I was... sort of the overly officious landlord strictly following rules, laying down rules.”

Knotts came to *Three’s Company* as an accomplished actor, but was best known as Barney Fife on *The Andy Griffith Show*, for which he won five Emmys.

He also had a run as a movie star, headlining a string of family comedies like *The Incredible Mr. Limpet *(1964), *The Apple Dumpling Gang *(1975), and *The Ghost and Mr. Chicken *(1966).

He reprised Deputy Fife in the made-for-TV movie *Return to Mayberry* (1986), and re-teamed with Griffith on *Matlock *as annoying neighbor Les Calhoun.

Not long before his 2006 death at the age of 81, Knotts parodied his Mr. Furley performance on a 2005 episode of *That ’70s Show*. He was survived by his wife, Frances Yarborough. He had two children from a previous marriage.

Priscilla Barnes (Terri Alden)

Priscilla Barnes in two images one younger and one older showcasing her at different stages

Priscilla Barnes as Terri Alden; Barnes at a John Ritter Foundation event in 2024.

After Somers was written off, Priscilla Barnes joined the series as the intelligent, hardworking nurse Terri, who defied the show’s prior “dumb blonde” stereotypes.

Barnes told PEOPLE in 2023* *that it was Ritter that made her time on *Three’s Company *a career highlight.

“John was a goofball… it was good that way, because when you do other shows, you get all different kinds of personalities, And the show was run by #1 on the call sheet,” she said. “So if he had had a different personality it would have been a different experience.”

The New Jersey native continued to find regular work once the sitcom came to an end. She played Felix Leiter’s wife in the James Bond film *Licence to Kill *(1989), and had supporting roles in Kevin Smith's *Mallrats *(1995), Sean Penn’s *The Crossing Guard *(1995), and Rob Zombie’s *The Devil's Rejects *(2005).

More recently, she secured one of her biggest roles as the villainous Magda on *Jane the Virgin*.

Barnes has been married to actor Ted Monte since 2003.

World Cup 2026 transportation in Philadelphia is going to look a lot different than some other cities.

On Monday, April 20, the Philadelphia host committee announced an agreement with Airbnb that will see fans receive free rides on SEPTA trains after all six matches the city will host this summer.

The rides on the Broad Street Line from NRG Station will begin at halftime and continue for two hours following the end of each match.

Last week, SEPTA announced that fares will be at the normal $2.90 rate for fans riding their trains this summer. But now, fans who exit near Lincoln Financial Field will not have to pay anything.

"Accessibility has been a central priority for Philadelphia Soccer 2026 since our bid, and we are grateful to Airbnb for sharing our fan-centered vision for FIFA World Cup in Philadelphia," said Daniel Hilferty, co-chair of Philadelphia Soccer 2026.

Boston and New York/New Jersey transportation headaches

The announcement from Philadelphia has put the issues faced by Boston and New York/New Jersey into stark relief.

Lincoln Financial Field is much closer to Philadelphia's core than Gillette Stadium and MetLife Stadium are to Boston and Manhattan, respectively. But Philadelphia's relatively pain-free World Cup transportation plan looks much different compared to the two host cities to its north.

FIFA and New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill have become embroiled in a war of words over the past week, with NJ Transit confirming that passengers will have to pay $150 for a round-trip ticket between New York's Penn Station to and New Jersey's MetLife Stadium.

Sherrill said the high prices were due to FIFA offering limited parking at the stadium and refusing to cover the costs of transporting fans.

"We inherited an agreement where FIFA is providing $0 for transportation to the World Cup," Sherrill said on X. "And while NJ Transit is stuck with a $48 million bill to safely get fans to and from games, FIFA is making $11 billion. I'm not going to stick New Jersey commuters with that tab for years to come."

FIFA, on the other hand, has said the price increase would have a "chilling effect" on fans attending games in New Jersey and said Sherrill’s demands asking FIFA to absorb transportation costs for fans were "unprecedented."

In Boston, meanwhile, round-trip train tickets to Foxborough during the 2026 World Cup will be $80.

That price is quadruple the usual cost of $20, which the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) charges for New England Patriots games, New England Revolution games and other events at Gillette Stadium.

What has transportation been like at past World Cups?

At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the country's government funded free travel on its Metro system for ticket holders.

According to FIFA, 2026 host cities previously agreed to provide free transportation before they were then allowed to provide service at cost.

"The original FIFA World Cup 2026 host city agreements signed in 2018 required free transportation for fans to all matches," a FIFA spokesperson said last week.

"Recognizing the financial strain this placed on the host cities, back in 2023 FIFA adjusted the host agreement requirements across all host cities as follows: All match ticket holders and accredited individuals shall be able to access transport (public or additionally planned transport) at cost to allow travel to stadiums on match days."

A 15-year-old cancer patient who dreamed of meeting Elon Musk left behind a handwritten list of questions for the tech billionaire before she died — and days later, he answered every one, honoring her final wish in a moment now touching millions online.

Conservative commentator Glenn Beck took to X on Thursday to share the heartbreaking story of Liv Perrotto, who passed away before she could fulfill her biggest dream of meeting Musk.

According to Beck, Perrotto had the opportunity to speak with the Tesla CEO just days before her death, but she was too exhausted and asked him to call back later.

Although she died before their encounter, she left behind a handwritten list of eight questions on her nightstand, which her mother, Rebecca, shared with Beck in hopes that Musk would finally answer them.

Beck posted photos of the teen and her notepad, which featured a playful mix of business and pop-culture questions.

Perrotto asked if Musk planned to make his own phone, expand the Tesla Diner, or add new games to Tesla updates.

She was also curious about his favorite anime, travels to Japan, if he knew the virtual pop star Hatsune Miku, and whether the Grok AI virtual companion "Ani" was inspired by fictional character "Misa" from the manga series "Death Note."

For her final question, Perrotto asked if "Asteroid," a Shiba Inu zero-gravity indicator — a plush toy used to signal the onset of microgravity — that she designed for the Polaris Dawn space mission, could become the official mascot for SpaceX.

The post garnered nearly two million views on the social media platform, with tens of thousands of likes.

On Thursday afternoon, Musk fulfilled the late teen's wish by replying directly to the post, answering all eight questions in order.

Elon Musk replied to the 15-year-old's questions, prompting an emotional response from her mother.

Musk revealed that he is not making his own phone, but confirmed his plans to expand the Tesla Diner and introduce new games.

He shared that his favorite anime is "Your Name," a Japanese romantic fantasy film, and noted that he has been to Japan "several times" — highlighting Kyoto and the teamLab art collective as his favorite places to visit.

With a simple "OK" and a smiley face, Musk agreed to name her plushie the space company's official mascot, turning her final question into a lasting tribute that honored her imagination.

Rebecca responded to Musk's answers with a tear-jerking, "I wish she was here to see this."
