Spencer Pratt's quest to positively impact Los Angeles was lost on his sister's ears.

Stephanie Pratt voiced her concerns about her brother's mayoral campaign and claimed his intentions aren't so pure.

In a series of posts shared on X, Stephanie noted that Spencer was a vital asset to the community more than one year after the devastating LA wildfires. However, she assured her followers that "The Hills" star was simply trying to stay relevant.

Pratt and his wife, Heidi Montag, lost their Pacific Palisades home in January 2025 during the deadly LA wildfires. Pratt said his parents also lost their home in the fires.

"Spencer has done great work for the palisades," Stephanie wrote. "But LA does not need another unqualified and inexperienced mayor. A vote for him is a vote for stupidity."

She continued, "He's just trying to stay famous and sell his memoir don't be fooled."

Stephanie mused over an "ideal world" where the Palisades received their own "mayor and police department," but was more concerned with the current issues plaguing Los Angeles.

Spencer Pratt Vows To Work With Federal Government On Ice Enforcement As La Mayor Candidate

"I'm worried about LA. I have no problem playing government but our city needs help," Stephanie wrote.

Spencer Pratt declared his intent to run for Mayor of Los Angeles on the one year anniversary of the Palisades fire.

"Everyone saying I should support him no matter what. Sorry he beat me up when I was 18 & put me in the hospital. So no he doesn't belong in the government. Run the palisades all you want not LA."

She added, "Leopards never change their spots. Stay in the palisades Spencer."

A vocal opponent to current Mayor Karen Bass, "The Guy You Loved to Hate" author launched his Los Angeles mayoral campaign last month. He told Fox News Digital that while he often finds himself standing alone in public, the support he receives behind closed doors tells a very different story.

"I know actual A-list stars support what I do, because I've been at restaurants, and they sit down at the table, and they quiz me about everything that I know for 20 minutes and thank me," Pratt said. "But these people know if they do that publicly, they risk losing their careers that some of them have been working for 30 years to have."

Pratt said he understands the risks that come with speaking publicly and doesn't fault those who choose to stay quiet.

"So, I don't judge them," he added. "It's just the same with firefighters that don't come forward with the truth because of retaliation. There's no difference between public employees who know what's going on and celebrities. Everyone sees what's happening, but everyone's scared to talk."

The reality star said the release of his memoir and his decision to run for mayor unfolded simultaneously in a way that felt beyond his control.

"The timing of the mayor and the book — that's God's timing because the book actually came together right after the fires over a year ago," he told Fox News Digital. "So, the writing's been happening all year."

As the manuscript took shape, Pratt said he was watching the political landscape closely and growing increasingly frustrated.

"And then when I saw that nobody was stepping up to run against Mayor Karen Bass in the last month or so, I had to do it," he said. "Again, it's God's timing."

"The crushing weight of words," read the seat cards at Catherine Holstein's fall/winter 2026 show for her label Khaite. With a set—designed by her husband Griffin Frazen—featuring scrolling LED text that almost looked like it was tumbling onto the audience, and a voice on the soundtrack reading a litany of words in alphabetical order, the theme was clearly on her mind.

Amid the endless data crawl, the torrents of texts, tweets, and think pieces now available to us at all times, the designer seemed to want to transcend speech altogether. A central conceit of her work has been finding a new visual language to project authority. "Power dressing can mean whatever you want it to mean," she told me for a 2023 ELLE profile, and here, she nodded to several institutional images of it, spanning church and state—from gold cross chains dangling from belts to high-collared suits to military jackets with exaggerated shoulders. The military-dress motif extended to transparent blouses and dresses that were a collision of martial and romantic, while bow ties gave a menswear flair to some of the looks.

She further explored the darkness-and-light dichotomy with a black dress that exploded into '80s-style white ruffles (the decade is a frequent reference point for the designer). Kate Moss-worthy slip dresses were interrupted with a passage of lace. And her taste for the unexpected juxtaposition came through in looks like an argyle sweater styled with opera gloves.

At times, the show had a Gothic feel: much like the rocker-vampires from Only Lovers Left Alive, the models seemed to have emerged from their darkened manse wearing all black, sporting big sunglasses and extended chrome claws for nails (though some also had flowers clipped to their lapels, in a nod to the holiday).

In that interview, Holstein confided that, unlike many designers, Fashion Week is her favorite time of year, and between the clothes, the set, the soundtrack, and the sparkling cast—including Raquel Zimmermann, Doutzen Kroes, Natasha Poly, Alex Consani, and ELLE cover girl Lulu Tenney—she delivered a spectacle. And though Khaite has already become a cornerstone of New York Fashion Week in a relatively short time, this could have even been an audition for a bigger stage.

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links."

If you had a lie-in on Sunday, your face was the inspiration for Sandy Liang's fall 2026 show. Makeup artist Romy Soleimani created a "sleepy girl" look for the collection, a luxe version of your "I just woke up" face. Liang had shown Soleimani a moodboard including photos of Kirsten Dunst and a princess lounging on a bed with bows—"like she just woke up, but she's a little sleepy," she remembers Liang saying.

Drawing inspiration from Dunst in Sofia Coppola movies like Marie Antoinette, Soleimani created a flush on the apples of the cheeks, using a combination of Rare Beauty's TikTok-famous Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in shades Adore and Lucky, with a light shimmer on top (in Happy, and the shade Truth for darker skin tones). To prevent the look from getting "too dolly," Soleimani added a ring of eyeliner in a soft brown-red color (using Rare's Brow Harmony Precision Eyebrow Pencil and Kind Words Lip Liner in Humble) to resemble a more perfected version of your early-morning fatigue. "It makes her more like a Lower East Side Sandy girl," she said. As a skin care base, models received a mini K-beauty routine, with an application of an essence (Beauty of Joseon Glow Replenishing Rice Milk Lightweight Hydration Toner) and a moisturizer (Revive Firming Moisturizer).

Hairstylist Dylan Chavles completed the Antoinette reference with loose curls that she deemed "Napoleonic." "We looked at Marie Antoinette too, but paintings of her—and no beach waves," she emphasized. Hair was swept into a side part and a curling iron was used to do a variation of the classic Marcel technique. The resulting texture was "big and fluffy, like a classic European painting," Chavles explained, adding dry shampoo and sea salt spray from Uberliss. A few lucky models also wore soft headbands across the hairline, which matched the bedroom-clothes-go-outside vibe of the collection, pairing with bunny slipper heels and party dresses that could also be pajamas.

Nail artist Holly Falcone finished the look with a minimal version of a French manicure, using Celisse products to paint a very thin line of white atop a transparent baby pink polish. This season, your clean-girl beauty look is becoming even cleaner—or snoozier.

For Amy Yasbeck, no closure has followed the loss of her husband, John Ritter, in 2003.

"I remember talking to Craig Ferguson. He asked me on his show after his dad passed away," the *Wings* actress said on a recent episode of Steve Kmetko's *Still Here Hollywood* podcast. "And that's the first time I ever thought of it, ever said it. Somebody was talking about closure — I think Dr. Drew or somebody was on — and said something about closure."

The actress recalled that she had rolled her eyes.

***Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our EW Dispatch newsletter.*****

"What closure?" she thought at the time. "I understand you close a relationship... but, no, it's a circle. You're still in that circle, whether you are right at the part where you're in so much pain you can't breathe, or you see it, and it's right there, that pain, that closure; that pain that people want you to have closure on."

She continued, "You still go through your life, but it affects you, like the moon, like tides. It's always gonna be there. You don't know why. Sometimes you have a bad day or something hit you, and you don't have to, for many people, you don't have to be in analysis [to ponder that]."

Ritter died unexpectedly on Sept. 11, 2003, after collapsing on the set of his sitcom *8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter*, on which he costarred with Katey Sagal and Kaley Cuoco. The star of '70s sitcom *Three's Company* and movies including 1996's *Sling Blade* and 2004's*Bad Santa* had what was thought to be a heart attack but later found to an aortic dissection. The 54-year-old died at the hospital that night.

He and Yasbeck, who met in 1990, while working on the movie *Problem Child*, married in 1999. Together they had a son, Noah. (Ritter was also the father of three children with his first wife, Nancy Morgan.)

Yasbeck said she has found it helpful to embrace the moments when she wishes Ritter were there with her.**

"That's what John and I used to always talk about: 'Can I get a witness?'" Yasbeck said. "And we were great witnesses for each other."

Following Ritter's death, Yasbeck established the John Ritter Foundation of Aortic Health, which focuses on preventing the unnecessary suffering caused by aortic dissection.**

Sexual assaults on airplanes are on the rise, CBS News investigation finds

Renee Solofra felt trapped in the middle seat on a flight from Chicago to Florida in September 2023. She said the man sitting next to her in the aisle seat was visibly intoxicated, smelled of alcohol and continued to drink before sexually assaulting her.

"I already had the back of my neck grabbed; I had my hand grabbed; I'd had my cellphone taken out of my hand and had to take it back from the individual," she said. "We were close to landing and at that point in time, I had crossed my arms on my lap, closed my eyes and was just thinking to myself, 'we're finally going to land.' And that's when he grabbed my breast."

Solofra recalled breaking down in tears when she was finally able to get off the plane and report the assault to the gate agent. She pressed charges against her aggressor, Daniel McAdams, who pleaded guilty to battery.

"It affected my job, it affected my life. I was scared to travel," Solofra told CBS News. "I had to try to have my voice heard, and the amounts of counseling and therapy that I've gone through — and I've never gone through therapy before in my life. It turned my world upside down."

A CBS News investigation found the FBI investigated more than 170 similar cases of passengers assaulting other passengers on flights in 2024. That's up from about 130 the year before. It's a small fraction of the millions of air travelers each year, but CBS News found that number is up sharply. There's fear the cases are widely underreported, and the airline industry and authorities aren't aggressively tracking in-air assaults.

The FBI didn't have some of these figures readily available until CBS News requested them. Since some cases are handled by local airport police, who don't publicly report numbers, it's difficult to know just how many others experienced what Solofra suffered.

CBS News' examination found many of the incidents happen on long distance or international flights, often at night and often when the attacker has consumed alcohol.

There are conditions facing air travelers today that may increase vulnerability, according to Sara Nelson, international president of the Association of Flight Attendants.

In the past, she said, "There were a lot of open seats; seats also were not as close together and you had a line of sight and flight attendants could see. There were more of us [flight attendants] on planes, too. We could walk through and keep an eye on the cabin."

"Today, actually, ironically, with more eyes literally in the cabin, but closer together and no line of sight between the rows, it's difficult for witnesses to see this," she said.

The FBI and the airline industry said they take the threat seriously, and thoroughly look into all claims.

"Flight attendants are often the ones getting the report," Nelson, who said she herself has been a victim of sexual assault on a flight, told CBS News.

She explained the report goes to the flight's destination.

"Anywhere in that chain, if someone dismisses it as 'no big deal,' there's not the kind of response that's necessary to have accountability," Nelson said.

To get more accountability, Renee Solofra has filed a lawsuit against American Airlines.

A spokesperson for American wrote in a statement: "The safety and security of our customers and team members remains our top priority. At this time, we are unable to comment on active litigation."

The law firm Romaucci and Blandin represents about a dozen women, including Solofra, who say they've been sexually assaulted on airplanes.

"The sad thing about this is that people don't know that this is happening consistently," said Daisy Ayllón, a partner at the Chicago-based firm.

Ayllón believes information sharing would go a long way to tackling this issue.

"There is no system currently that requires the airlines to actually report the numbers," she said. "So, the numbers that the FBI has, those numbers are exclusively from victims who are deciding to come forward and they're making a report. But we know that there's more victims out there because the airlines receive those complaints. The airlines are speaking to the passengers directly, and the airlines are not reporting those numbers to the FBI. So there are a lot of gaps in information."

Solofra is urging passengers to report assaults promptly. She hopes airlines will also report numbers to authorities, and the public, so people will know the risk.

"Silence only protects the aggressor," she said. "There needs to be reform and we're not going to stop until that reform happens."

The company slashed its sales and free-cash-flow targets for the current fiscal year.

Kyndryl (NYSE: KD) stock plummeted over the last week of trading. The company's share price plunged 47.9% over the period. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 declined 1.4%, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 2.1%.

Kyndryl released its latest quarterly report this week, and it would be an understatement to say that investors were disappointed with the results. In addition to sales and earnings that came in below Wall Street's targets, the company also lowered its forward guidance.

Kyndryl's fiscal Q3 results were a dud

On Feb. 9, Kyndryl published results for the third quarter of its 2026 fiscal year -- a period which ended Dec. 31. The business recorded non-GAAP (adjusted) earnings per share of $0.52 on sales of $3.86 billion. Meanwhile, the average analyst estimate had called for a per-share profit of $0.60 and sales of $3.91 billion.

While the company's Kyndryl Consult business grew sales 24% year over year in the quarter, it wasn't enough to stop overall revenue from falling short of expectations. Margins for the period also came in softer than anticipated.

Kyndryl's new full-year guidance was a shocker

In conjunction with its fiscal Q3 report, Kyndryl lowered its full-year guidance. The company now expects free cash flow for the fiscal year to be between $325 million and $375 million -- down from its previous forecast for free cash flow of roughly $550 million. Meanwhile, constant-currency sales are now projected to decline between 2% and 3% this year. Previously, the company had forecasted constant-currency growth of 1%.

Kyndryl's forecasts for the fiscal year suggest substantial performance deterioration for the business in the current quarter. While the company reiterated previous targets issued for the 2028 fiscal year, the steep drop-off in sales and free cash flow has caused investors to lose confidence.

1. Nvidia

What assortment of hyper-growth stocks wouldn't include semiconductor giant Nvidia? It's been riding the artificial intelligence (AI) wave as it cranks out chips used in data centers for AI processing. Its future looks quite promising, as big tech companies are committing billions of dollars to AI infrastructure.

It also has a new chip coming out, the Rubin, which is designed to facilitate AI inference processes, and it should keep Nvidia competitive. The company's Blackwell chip has already been quite successful and the Rubin platform outperforms it. Clearly, Nvidia is working hard to keep up with advancing technologies.

Better still, Nvidia's stock actually seems appealingly priced, with a recent forward-looking price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 24.3, well below the five-year average of 37.4. Wall Street agrees, with the vast majority of analysts rating the stock a buy or strong buy, and one seeing a 90% upside in the stock from recent levels.

2. Palantir Technologies

Palantir specializes in AI-based data mining and analytic solutions for businesses and other entities, and counts the U.S. government as a major customer. It's been growing briskly, posting fourth-quarter revenue up 70% year over year and a customer count up 34%.

Some investors in software companies like to check out the "Rule of 40," which sums a company's annual revenue growth and its adjusted operating margin. Results above 40 are favorable, and Palantir's has gone from 81% in its fourth quarter of last year to a whopping 127% in its recent fourth quarter. Such numbers suggest that Palantir is wringing a lot of profit from every dollar of sales -- and sales are increasing rapidly, too.

Still, everything isn't perfect. Palantir faces great growth potential internationally, but lately it hasn't had the people power to capitalize on that. Some companies might acquire other companies in order to expand their talent base, but Palantir CEO Alex Karp has said that "We don't do acquisitions because we are a thick, dense culture, which means you'd have to fit in."

Palantir's shares have long traded near nosebleed levels, but they're down about 20% year-to-date as I write this, making them somewhat more attractively priced. But with a price-to-sales ratio recently at 80, they're still priced for perfection.

3. MercadoLibre

MercadoLibre is a major e-commerce and fintech (financial technology) company serving Latin America. As of its third quarter, it boasted 115 million unique buyers and 72 million monthly active users of its fintech services, with net revenue up 39% year over year and a net profit margin of 5.7%. Management noted that this was "the 27th consecutive quarter of [revenue] growth above 30%."

The stock has not risen much so far this year, though, partly on concerns about competition, as Sea Limited's Shopee marketplace has been stealing market share from MercadoLibre in Brazil. Two can still win in Latin America, if it comes to that, though, because, per a report from consulting firm Endeavor and MercadoLibre, e-commerce sales in Latin America are likely to grow 1.5 times faster than the global average.

This company has a lot of growth potential, and an attractively priced stock at recent levels, with a forward P/E of 31, well below the five-year average of 64.

4. Vanguard Information Technology ETF

Lastly, here's an exchange-traded fund (ETF), a fund that trades like a stock, and one of the best growth ETFs. Its top holdings include several of the "Magnificent Seven" stocks, such as Microsoft, Apple, and Nvidia. It offers an easy way to invest in a lot -- 300-plus -- of growth stocks.

With all of these stocks and this ETF, though, remember that when the market pulls back, as it always does now and then, fast growers can pull back more sharply. Be prepared for volatility, and aim to be a long-term investor, able to ride out downturns.
