If you had a lie-in on Sunday, your face was the inspiration for Sandy Liang's fall 2026 show. Makeup artist Romy Soleimani created a "sleepy girl" look for the collection, a luxe version of your "I just woke up" face. Liang had shown Soleimani a moodboard including photos of Kirsten Dunst and a princess lounging on a bed with bows—"like she just woke up, but she's a little sleepy," she remembers Liang saying.
Drawing inspiration from Dunst in Sofia Coppola movies like Marie Antoinette, Soleimani created a flush on the apples of the cheeks, using a combination of Rare Beauty's TikTok-famous Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in shades Adore and Lucky, with a light shimmer on top (in Happy, and the shade Truth for darker skin tones). To prevent the look from getting "too dolly," Soleimani added a ring of eyeliner in a soft brown-red color (using Rare's Brow Harmony Precision Eyebrow Pencil and Kind Words Lip Liner in Humble) to resemble a more perfected version of your early-morning fatigue. "It makes her more like a Lower East Side Sandy girl," she said. As a skin care base, models received a mini K-beauty routine, with an application of an essence (Beauty of Joseon Glow Replenishing Rice Milk Lightweight Hydration Toner) and a moisturizer (Revive Firming Moisturizer).

Hairstylist Dylan Chavles completed the Antoinette reference with loose curls that she deemed "Napoleonic." "We looked at Marie Antoinette too, but paintings of her—and no beach waves," she emphasized. Hair was swept into a side part and a curling iron was used to do a variation of the classic Marcel technique. The resulting texture was "big and fluffy, like a classic European painting," Chavles explained, adding dry shampoo and sea salt spray from Uberliss. A few lucky models also wore soft headbands across the hairline, which matched the bedroom-clothes-go-outside vibe of the collection, pairing with bunny slipper heels and party dresses that could also be pajamas.
Nail artist Holly Falcone finished the look with a minimal version of a French manicure, using Celisse products to paint a very thin line of white atop a transparent baby pink polish. This season, your clean-girl beauty look is becoming even cleaner—or snoozier.
