Save this story Save Story Save this story A night at the opera demands a sense of occasion—a world premiere all the more. Last night, Dua Lipa celebrated the Metropolitan Opera’s debut of Lincoln in the Bardo , meeting the moment in a gown plucked straight from the spring 2027 collections.
The singer chose one of the final looks from Maximilian Davis’slatest outing for Ferragamo : a slouchy black off-the-shoulder gown that drapes over the body. With its ultra-thin halter strap and thigh-high slit that reveals a bodysuit beneath, it’s an undeniably sexy dress, but its shimmering black paillettes and theatrical train elevate it to gala-ready status. Lipa let the dress do the talking, accessorizing only with the black pumps from the runway and an occasional earring

The singer isn’t the only person who’s recently snagged a piece from Ferragamo’s new collection. This past weekend, at the 2026 Academy Gala, Sarah Paulson wore another one of Davis’s paillette-coated dresses. She opted for the finale look, a bronze mock-neck midi with a slashed midsection and a regal train flowing behind her. Paulson opted for a more-is-more approach to the styling in a pair of outsized earrings and gold-tipped pointy-toe pumps.

Whether they’re styled with statement earrings like Sarah Paulson or kept as-is like Dua Lipa, Ferragamo’s glimmering, armor-like gowns are already a hot ticket this gala season.
