Sometimes when kids, or even grown-ups, for that matter, want to get out of something or get their way, they give what is known as puppy-dog eyes.

Dogs naturally have large, sweet eyes that often look a little sad.

Basically, these are the eyes you want when you’re trying to get something from another person.

It turns out dogs can also give puppy-dog eyes, as we see here with Lady, the Dachshund.

When her mom puts this Dachshund in a sweater, Lady has a lot to say with her eyes, and people can’t get enough of it.

Someone in the comments section called out Lady’s incredible puppy-dog eyes that were trying to communicate to her mom that she wasn’t feeling this sweater.

It’s the most beautiful striped sweater and looks great on Lady, but she doesn’t seem very enthusiastic about it.

Even though Lady, the Dachshund, is a world-class traveler and fashionista, as the daughter of an influencer (Abby Baffoe), sometimes you just don’t want to wear a sweater!

As another commenter wrote, “Yes, she low-key hates you at the moment.”

Why Do Some Dachshunds Need Sweaters in Colder Weather?

So, though Lady isn’t that into this sweater, she may want to consider it when it gets a bit colder.

Many people dress their small (and big) dogs in clothing just for fun, but a sweater in the winter can be necessary for certain breeds.

Because of their body shape of very short legs and elongated bodies, that body-to-surface ratio makes it easier for Dachshunds to get colder than other breeds.

Their proximity to the ground also makes them get colder faster.

Though Lady is a Longhaired Dachshund with beautiful silky hair, it isn’t super thick like a Golden Retriever’s.

If they’re in the cold for too long, they can develop frostbite or even hypothermia.

But a sweater or fleece-lined coat, as well as booties, can definitely help Dachshunds in cold weather, like this cozy and warm cashmere one from PetPassion.com.

So Lady may want to give thankful eyes the next time her mom puts her in a sweater!
