Addison Rae’s Best Red Carpet Moments Are ‘High Fashion’

TheStewartofNY/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images Addison Rae has come a long, long way since her TikTok days. The Louisiana native, once a staple of the app thanks to her viral dances, has evolved into a pop artist in her own right, with a unique red carpet and stage style to match.

After shooting to fame in 2019, Rae came into her own on the red carpet in the post-pandemic era. The “Diet Pepsi” singer traded her influencer bandage dresses for looks with a distinct point of view: archival pieces from Gareth Pugh and Rodarte, Thierry Mugler, and Thom Browne, and playful moments like the Madonna-inspired bra and panties she wore to the 2024 VMAs. Notably, she often works with Dara Allen, the stylist also employed by Hunter Schafer, for these moments.

Off the red carpet, Rae’s fashion choices have similarly undergone a stark transformation, whether she’s wearing a slip dress and Mary Janes in one of her moody visuals or walking the streets of L.A. in a Britney-coded outfit without pants. Here, look through Addison Rae’s best red carpet moments from 2019 to now.

At the 68th Grammy Awards, Rae referenced Marilyn Monroe’s iconic subway-grate moment in The Seven Year Itch with the help of a custom high-low Alaïa gown.

Rae subverted the typical skin-tight latex silhouette in an A-line, blush-pink dress by Atsuko Kudo—complete with matching fingerless gloves.

A vintage Norma Kamali dress—featuring a mermaid train and sheer panels—proved to be a head-turning choice for the 2025 CFDA awards, where Rae was a presenter.

For an intimate performance and meet-and-greet in Brooklyn, Rae opted for a black version of Atsuko Kudo’s plunging latex dress.

Wearing Versace by Dario Vitale, Rae put a sculptural twist on the exposed-bra trend in a silver sequined dress with a purple peekaboo neckline.

Rae flexed her fashion and art nerd status for a 2025 Grammy Museum performance. She wore an archival Vincent Van Gogh-inspired look from sister duo Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s spring 2012 collection for Rodarte.

Rae did her version of winter white in a head-to-toe look by Self-Portrait.

Rae brought mermaid-core to the 2024 CFDAs in an archival Thom Browne look from the spring 2018 runway.

The star looked like a couture mermaid when she wore a lace Alberta Ferretti confection to a 2024 gala in Los Angeles.

Rae leaned into Miu Miu’s off-kilter cool at Paris Fashion Week, wearing a tattered polka-dot skirt set and no makeup.

Rae nodded to Madonna at the 2024 MTV VMAs in a Miss Claire Sullivan look that featured granny panties and a tutu.

Another reference to Madonna, this time in Jean Paul Gaultier.

Rae turned heads at the 2023 Academy Museum Gala in a fully sheer dress with side cut-outs and embellishments.

The singer proved that sheer dressing can still be buttoned-up at a 2023 premiere.

Given the bright color and bold cut, it was easy to detect that Rae’s red suit was plucked from the ’90s Mugler runways.

Rae arguably stepped into her current, high fashion style era at the 2022 CFDA Awards when she wore an archival Gareth Pugh look.

The plunging neckline of Rae’s Gucci dress was amped-up with a Boho tassel necklace.

For her second Met Gala in 2022, Rae wore a mirrored Michael Kors dress and metallic eyeshadow.

Rae’s simple Grammys dress was elevated with stacks of thick, silver bangles.

It was a night of debuts at the 2021 Met Gala. Rae attended her first ball that year with a new blonde hairdo, all while wearing a Tom Ford for Gucci look.

Sparkle has always been a staple of Rae’s red carpet style no matter the year.

She was still finding her footing on the red carpet in 2020 with simple looks like this red hot bandage dress.

For one of her first red carpet appearances at the Streamy Awards in 2019, Rae wore a nude illusion mini dress and light brown pumps.
