Meryl Streep and Martin Short are staying close at the 2024 Emmy Awards. Streep, 75, sat by her longtime friend Short's side at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 15, during the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, at which the pair's show Only Murders in the Building received nominations in eight different categories. The pair's outing together at the annual awards ceremony comes months after representatives for Short, 74, shut down rumors regarding the nature of his relationship with Streep after the pair appeared particularly close at the 2024 Golden Globes in January.
