State banquets are an opportunity for members of the royal family to bring out some of their favorite fashions and meaningful jewelry, and this week's event in honor of the president and first lady of Nigeria did not disappoint.

In addition to Kate Middleton's flag-dressing gown and Princess Anne's recycled look from nearly 60 years prior, another impressive piece from the royal collection was worn by Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester: the Iveagh Tiara.

Originally made as a wedding gift for Princess Mary of Teck, the wife of the future King George V, the kokoshnik-style tiara features a tight crown of diamond scrolls and foliage designs, with round and drop-shaped diamonds.

According to the Royal Watcher, the tiara has not been altered or dismantled since it was gifted to Mary, who was photographed wearing it well into her 70s. Upon her death in 1953, it was inherited by her daughter-in-law, Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester.

Alice later gifted the tiara to Birgitte, the wife of her only living son: Prince Richard, a first cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth, who is known by his royal title as the Duke of Gloucester.

The Iveagh Tiara has not been one of Birgitte's most-worn tiaras, though she did don it for her 17th wedding anniversary portrait in 1989.

Even more meaningful, the Duchess of Gloucester, 79, lent the tiara to her youngest daughter, Lady Rose, for her 2008 wedding to George Gilman.

Princess Kate, 44, shocked royal watchers with her tiara choice at the German state banquet in December, wearing Queen Victoria's Oriental Circlet Tiara for the first time. However, she returned to an old favorite to honor Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and first lady Oluremi Tinubu.

For the first state banquet of 2026, the Princess of Wales paired her deep emerald gown—a nod to the Nigerian flag —with her go-to royal headpiece: Queen Mary's Lover's Knot Tiara. It's no surprise that the princess's tiara was also one of Queen Mary's; the queen consort was an avid collector of jewelry, bolstering the crown jewels collection and even commissioning Garrard as the first official Crown Jeweler in 1843.

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla, 78, wore the Belgian Sapphire Tiara and its matching earrings for the glam banquet, choosing jewels from the late Queen Elizabeth's collection.

Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil got married in 2007

The couple split in 2009, two years before the singer died on July 23, 2011

Fielder-Civil inspired her album Back to Black

Amy Winehouse was married to Blake Fielder-Civil until two years before her tragic death at age 27.

The late musician wed Fielder-Civil in 2007. Their brief marriage was passionate but tumultuous, and notoriously served as inspiration for Winehouse's smash hit debut album, Back to Black, released in 2006. The couple battled drug and alcohol addiction, which ultimately led to Winehouse's death at age 27 in July 2011.

Though Fielder-Civil has led a mostly private life since Winehouse's death, during a March 2026 appearance on the We Need to Talk podcast, he said he has "made peace" after having "a part to play" in his ex-wife's death, while emphasizing that it is unfair to place the blame entirely with him.

"Amy herself had agency. And that is in no way at all disrespecting her by saying that, but Amy did what she wanted to do," he said. "And even though the drinking had started to hurt her, she carried on… She's actually a very strong woman."

Read on to learn more about Amy Winehouse's ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil and where he is today.

When did Amy and Blake get married?

Winehouse and Fielder-Civil met at a London pub in 2005 a few years after the musician released her debut album Frank in 2003. At the time, he worked in video production and she hadn't yet reached the global fame that came with the 2006 release of Back to Black.

In a 2016 interview with Complex, Fielder-Civil recalled being apprehensive upon hearing Winehouse say she was going to sing him a song upon first meeting. "I really fancied her and I didn't want to have pretend I liked it," he told the outlet. As she sang the first note covering "Round Midnight," he said, "I think I, at that moment, fell in love with her."

The couple dated on and off in the years that followed, a period of their bumpy relationship that inspired much of Winehouse's music, in particular the title track on Back to Black.

"All the songs are about the state of my relationship at the time with Blake," the singer told Rolling Stone in 2007. "I had never felt the way I feel about him about anyone in my life. It was very cathartic, because I felt terrible about the way we treated each other."

The got engaged in April 2007 and wed in Florida a month later in front of a Miami clerk. "I don't want to say we did it on a whim, because that makes it sound whimsical," Fielder-Civil told the outlet.

Why did Amy and Blake divorce?

At the time of Back to Black's release in 2007, Amy began showing signs of drug and alcohol addiction. Many believed Fielder-Civil was responsible for introducing her to drugs and enabling the addictions that ultimately led to her death at age 27 in July 2011. In his recent 2026 interview, he denied "this idea of daily facilitating," indicating that Amy "experimented" on her own.

Their marriage was tumultuous and short lived, ending in 2009; she died two years later. In a 2018 interview with Good Morning Britain, Fielder-Civil said that the narrative surrounding his and Winehouse's drug use was skewed.

"The drug thing is something that's been attributed to me for years. The fact is that me and Amy only used drugs together maybe six months of our marriage. That was it. And before that, Amy didn't use drugs. She smoked cannabis, [and] I did heroin maybe four or five times," he told the outlet.

Fielder-Civil added, "People don't realize Amy didn't do anything Amy didn't want to do ... [but] I'll always carry a burden of guilt because I should have acted."

Did Blake attend Amy's funeral?

Winehouse died of alcohol toxicity on July 23, 2011, at age 27. Friends and family of the singer gathered in London for her funeral on July 26, 2011.

At the time of Winehouse's funeral, Fielder-Civil was serving time after admitting to a burglary carried out to pay for his drug addiction, per The Guardian. He was not in attendance at Winehouse's funeral, though according to Complex, "was allowed the dignity of a small ceremony in the prison chapel."

Despite not being at the funeral, Fielder-Civil has spoken out about Winehouse's passing since. In an interview with Good Morning Britain on what would have been the late singer's 40th birthday in September 2023, he discussed his time with the late singer and the idea that people still consider him "responsible" for her death.

"I can't change how other people feel about that," he said about the latter. "But for me personally, I've needed to stop carrying that cross on my own. I've carried that burden myself for over 10 years. I feel, to be honest, that I'm the only person within that story that's ever held any accountability, that's ever tried to say, 'Yep, I made some huge mistakes.'"

He explained how he saw the situation at the time: "I was a 20-something-year-old drug addict. So I had absolutely no idea how to make myself clean, let alone somebody else who was a big cog in a machine for a record label, and there were vested interests in Amy carrying on performing."

Who is Blake married to now?

It is unclear who Fielder-Civil is in a relationship with today, though he did confirm that he is in one during his appearance on We Need to Talk in March 2026.

He is a father, though, of two children — a son named Jack and a daughter named Lola — who he welcomed with ex-partner Sarah Aspin in May 2011 and April 2013, respectively.

What is Blake doing now?

Fielder-Civil made an appearance on Good Morning Britain in April 2024 to discuss the new Winehouse biopic, Back to Black. During his conversation with the hosts, he opened up about his thoughts past relationship with the late musician and shared updates on his own life today.

"I've been clean for years myself," he first revealed after being asked about his own addiction battle. "It's not as black and white as that. I was a very young person I thought I had the answers. ... If I would have known how it was going to develop, I would have been far more careful."

Fielder-Civil also expressed his desire to speak with Winehouse's loved ones, especially her father Mitch Winehouse, to clear the air. "We don't need to be best friends but I wouldn't mind having a conversation," he said.

"As sad as it may be, Mitch is a father, I'm a father. I understand his position on me, I really do," he continued. "But I hope that he would see that there was genuinely love there."

Sinister director Scott Derrickson noted that James Ransone was omitted from the Oscars' "In Memoriam" segment that was broadcast on March 15

Ransone, who died in December 2025, was mentioned on the Oscars' website alongside other omitted stars, including James Van Der Beek and Eric Dane

The Oscars received backlash after omitting several stars from its broadcast including Van Der Beek, Dane, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Robert Carradine and more

Director Scott Derrickson is making sure James Ransone gets his flowers.

The Sinister and Black Phone filmmaker, 59, shared a special tribute to Ransone, who died by suicide at the age of 46 in December 2025, after he was left out of the 2026 Oscars' "In Memoriam" segment during the broadcast on March 15.

Derrickson shared a photo of Ransone sitting on a chair in a room with dark green walls in a post on X on Tuesday, March 17. Alongside the photo, he wrote, "The Oscars In Memoriam ignored him but I cannot. He was my friend. I put him in five films."

"In early January I buried James "PJ" Ransone after he committed suicide… He was a complex, funny, talented, and undeniably reckless person. He was wildly alive and deeply loved," the director continued.

"I know he said some infuriating things online, but the last time I saw him, he cried with regret for all of that. 'I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings,' he said," Derrickson concluded his post, adding, "Please don't trash him here. He is dearly missed."

In response to his post on X, one fan wrote, "A human, a talent sorely missed. Thanks for this Scott."

Another chimed in, writing, "It's infuriating how many people the academy left out of the In Memoriam… There were so many people missing…"

During the show, Ransone was notably absent from the segment, which featured tributes to Rob and Michele Reiner, Robert Redford, Diane Keaton and Catherine O'Hara. (The Oscars did, however, pay tribute to the It: Chapter Two actor on its website.)

After the Oscars' "In Memoriam" segment aired, several fans went online to question the omission of several stars that had died prior to the ceremony, including James Van Der Beek, Eric Dane, Brigitte Bardot, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Robert Carradine and more.

One fan wrote on X in response to Van Der Beek's omission from the ceremony: "James Van Der Beek not getting mentioned in the Oscars In Memoriam reel should be a crime."

Another questioned on X, "No Eric Dane or James Van Der Beek tribute???? Huh???"

One Disney animator is recalling how kind and "cool" late actor John Candy was while filming the 1990 animated film Rescuers Down Under.

Speaking on the Sunday, March 15 episode of the Nostalgia Tonight with Joe Sibilia podcast, longtime animator Terry Naughton discussed what it was like meeting Candy, who died at age 43 in 1994.

"He was just the coolest dude," Naughton said. "The guy you see on screen, you know, Uncle Buck or any of those — that's him. That was who he was."

Naughton explained how, while working on the film, he and some other members of the crew were invited by Candy to visit his production company, Frostback Productions.

Naughton added that when he told Candy to come to the Rescuers premier, the actor responded, "I'll bring the beer."

When the group wanted to take a photo with Candy, he said "that'd be great," before the group began to pose.

"There was only about six of us there, something like that, six or seven of us. And so we're we're sitting around, and we're looking for John. We're going, 'Well, where's John?' And then we look, and he's standing behind us. We're like, 'What are you doing there?' I said, 'You're up in front.' He goes, I''m big. I'll block the whole picture.' We go, 'Sit down in front of us, for god's sake.' So he comes around, and he sits down in front.... But again, it's just who he was."

Candy rose to fame on Canada's SCTV before making films like Stripes, The Great Outdoors, Summer Rental, Uncle Buck, and Home Alone.

The animated Rescuers centered on a boy living in the Australian outback who frees a rare golden eagle from a trap before being kidnapped by a poacher trying to catch the eagle. After two top mice are assigned to save the boy and the eagle, they fly to Australia on a clumsy albatross, voiced by Candy.

Mikayla Matthews spoke out about a production pause for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives amid an open domestic assault investigation into cast member Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen

The reality TV star revealed the reason behind the pause in filming on her Instagram Stories

Police confirmed to PEOPLE on March 16 that there is an open domestic assault investigation into Paul and Mortensen, adding that "allegations have been made in both directions" and "contact was made with involved parties on [Feb.] 24th and 25th"

Mikayla Matthews is speaking out about a production pause for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

On March 16, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that filming had been halted for the reality TV show amid an ongoing domestic assault investigation involving cast member Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.

In a post to her Instagram Stories on March 19, Matthews answered a fan's question about whether Mormon Wives was "actually on pause."

"It was a decision that all us girls came up with and agreed on," confirmed the reality TV star. "We didn't feel comfortable filming with everything that was happening."

Reps for Hulu have not commented on the production pause to PEOPLE.

On Monday, the Draper Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that there is an open "domestic assault investigation" involving Paul and Moertensen, adding that "allegations have been made in both directions" and "contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th." The pair, whose rocky relationship has served as a main story arc throughout Mormon Wives' four seasons, share 2-year-old son Ever.

Sources told PEOPLE that fellow Mormon Wives cast members were maintaining their distance as the investigation unfolded.

"The girls are very overwhelmed. They all banded together and they don't want to come back right now," said a source close to production. "They were just getting tired of Taylor, honestly."

"None of the women want to be associated with her," added a source close to the cast.

Since news broke of the investigation, both Paul — whose season of The Bachelorette is set to premiere on March 22 — and Mortensen have acknowledged the media firestorm in public statements.

Paul first broke her silence during a Bachelorette press event on March 17, telling PEOPLE, "It's a heavy time, and it's unfortunate." At the event, she also told Entertainment Weekly that she and her son's father are using a "third party" to handle "pick-up, drop-offs [and] communication" as the investigation unfolds, noting that those decisions came when she "took action about a few weeks ago."

Paul also appeared on Good Morning America on March 18 to promote the forthcoming Bachelorette season, where she told host Lara Spencer, "I'm a person that will always speak my truth and that's what I'm known for and so when the time is right, I will be."

Mikayla Matthews Instagram StoriesCredit: Mikayla Matthews/Instagram

During the interview, Paul also acknowledged the production pause, telling Spencer that she had heard that Mormon Wives had stopped filming but did not know "for how long and why."

On March 18, a rep for Mortensen shared a public statement with EW acknowledging the investigation, maintaining that "his number one priority here is protecting Ever" and denying the implication that he was the reason the investigation had been made public.

"He knew there was a possibility it could come out, but he was not going to be the one to proactively do that because he has always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor," the rep continued. "It's been really hard to achieve that, but he wants to co-parent well."

— sign up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.

Reps for Paul, ABC and Hulu have not commented on the allegations to PEOPLE.

Paul and Mortensen's domestic assault investigation follows Paul's 2023 arrest on allegations of domestic violence after an argument with Mortensen. She was given misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal mischief and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child, accused of throwing a chair at Mortensen that allegedly hit her daughter.

Paul pled guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault, which means that if she complies with the conditions of the plea, that charge will be dismissed. The other charges have already been dismissed.

"But hey, you know what? I'll take it. That means I've been nominated all these times," Warren said

Diane Warren is embracing her title as the "biggest loser" of the Oscars.

Following the 2026 Academy Awards on Sunday, March 15, the legendary songwriter, 69, opened up to NBC Los Angeles' Robert Kovacik about her 17th Oscar nomination without a win — a record-breaking statistic, multiple outlets reported. This year, Warren was nominated for Best Original Song for "Dear Me," sung by Kesha and created for her Warren's documentary Relentless, which ultimately lost to KPop Demon Hunters' "Golden."

Appearing on NBC LA, Warren poked fun at how her loss led her to break a new record: nine consecutive Academy Award losses, which prompted her to dub herself the "biggest loser" of the Oscars.

"I saw a lot of headlines that I am now the biggest loser, like ever, in the history of the Academy Awards," Warren said, letting out a laugh. "But hey, you know what? I'll take it. That means I've been nominated all these times."

She added that all of the nominations, to her, carry more weight than just any one competitive Oscars win could.

Throughout her career, in addition to her 17 Oscar nominations, Warren has won an Academy Honorary Award — presented by Cher — plus a Grammy, an Emmy and two Golden Globes.

In an Instagram post after the Oscars, Warren shared one of the headlines outlining her record-breaking losing streak. In the comments, Kesha — who sang Warren's latest Oscar-nominated song — voiced her support for the songwriter and praised her lasting effect on the music industry.

"I am so proud of you and I am honored to have sung this incredibly special song of yours. You do not need an award to tell you how much you have impacted this business and this world," Kesha, 39, wrote. "You have helped write the soundtrack of all of our lives!"

Days after the Academy Awards, Warren again took to Instagram to let fans know her latest loss won't be slowing her down. Sharing a selfie posed in front of her keyboard, with a pen in her hand, Warren wrote in the caption, "Ok, on to the next song!💪🎶🎵🎼🎹✍️."

In 2025, after being nominated for Best Original Song (for "Journey," performed by H.E.R for The Six Triple Eight) and losing, Warren told told Variety at the Vanity Fair red carpet she'd be back writing songs the next day, and that she was determined to return to the Academy Awards again the following year.

"I'm the Terminator of the Oscars — I'll be back," Warren said. "That's in my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice. I'm coming back. You can't get rid of me."

It's been a rough few years for Taylor Frankie Paul.

Despite rising to fame through MomTok and her hit Hulu reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, the Utah mom of three has faced ongoing legal issues stemming from her volatile relationship with ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.

A heated argument between the two in 2023 landed the TikTok influencer in court with multiple charges, including one for aggravated assault. Though Paul pleaded guilty to a felony count, she did so under a plea deal that would reduce the charge to a misdemeanor in three years if she abided by the agreement.

Weeks before her season of The Bachelorette was set to air, the former couple became involved in another domestic violence investigation that halted production on season 5 of Mormon Wives.

Here's a complete history of Taylor Frankie Paul's legal troubles and what she's said about her ongoing case.

On Feb. 17, 2023, Paul was arrested after Mortensen called police, claiming that she had been hitting him in front of her two children, whom she shares with ex-husband, Tate Paul.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported at the time that police obtained video of the altercation, which showed the reality star throwing "heavy metal chairs" in her ex-boyfriend's direction — one of which appeared to strike her then-5-year-old daughter.

Though court documents state that Paul admitted to throwing the chairs, she claimed during a September 2025 appearance on Call Her Daddy that she "never" hurt her daughter or "intentionally did anything" with her children.

In March 2025, she was charged with one felony count of aggravated assault and two felony counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, along with one misdemeanor count each of child abuse and criminal mischief.

The Bachelorette lead entered a plea in abeyance in August 2023 to a third-degree felony count of aggravated assault. According to court documents, if Paul adhered to the terms of her plea agreement for three years, then the charge would be entered as a Class A misdemeanor.

Under the terms of her probation, Paul cannot consume any alcohol or illegal drugs, per court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Her four other charges were dismissed with prejudice.

TMZ broke the news on March 15 that filming for season 5 of Mormon Wives had halted due to a major fight between Paul and Mortensen. Days later, a spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department confirmed that there is an open "domestic assault investigation" regarding the former couple and that "allegations have been made in both directions."

The investigation has been ongoing since at least Feb. 24, which was when the spokesperson claimed contact was made with one of the involved parties.

Though Paul hasn't touched on any of the specific details regarding her ongoing domestic assault allegation, she did open up about the "hard" timing of it all — considering that her season of The Bachelorette is set to air on March 22.

"Honestly, just like, my heart hurts to see it, to go through it, especially at this time," she told PEOPLE. "It's just heavy. It's a heavy time, and it's unfortunate. I'm struggling for sure, but also at the same time I feel like if I don't show up, then I'm just giving these opportunities away and not enjoying what we've worked on and something super exciting that's coming."

The reality star also told Entertainment Weekly that she cut off contact with Mortensen three weeks ago and that they are using a "third-party" to deal with "pick-up, drop-offs, communication." She also claimed she never intended to "bring anything to the public eye," suggesting that Mortensen had a different "plan."

A rep for the Mormon Wives cast member later denied that he was the reason the investigation was made public, telling Entertainment Weekly that "his number one priority here is protecting [their 1-year-old son], Ever."

"He knew there was a possibility it could come out, but he was not going to be the one to proactively do that because he has always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor," the rep added. "It's been really hard to achieve that, but he wants to co-parent well."
