Kylie Jenner Has Called It: It’s Fawn Girl Fall

Save this story Save Story Save this story Kylie Jenner is no deer in the headlights, but she decided to go full fawn at the LACMA Art+Film Gala on Saturday night. Making her debut at the annual Los Angeles event to fundraise for the museum, the beauty mogul joined a starry crowd embracing all things glitzy and gloriously extravagant. For many, that meant a lot of sequins and skin-baring. But for Jenner, that meant a shimmering, body-skimming gown in fashion’s latest animal-print obsession: deer spots.

The dress, from Ashi Studio’s fall 2026 couture collection , was an on-trend departure from the usual leopard and zebra. Cut close to the body in a mottled chocolate-brown and silver fabric that resembled the delicate markings of a fawn, it featured a high halter neckline, a sculpted waist, and a floor-grazing skirt that flared gently from the knees. The original runway design featured tiny, sculptural antlers protruding from the collar, though these appear to have been removed for Jenner’s red-carpet outing.

It was also all business in the front, tassel in the back: the otherwise streamlined gown opened to reveal almost her entire back, with a swirling and shimmering tassel tracing down her spine. It was a little nod to the opulent, old-world glamour currently making its way back into fashion, which has been dominated by luxe detailing: swishing fringe, ornamental frog clasps, oversized bows, and fur-trimmed robes abound right now. More is more, particularly when it comes to the finer details.

Hairstylist Igor Rosales-Jackson fashioned her jet-black lengths into a glossy, center-parted cascade of voluptuous waves, while makeup artist Ariel Tejada opted for fluttery lashes, softly bronzed cheeks, and a nude-pink lip. Zola Ganzorigt was behind her understated manicure, with jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz adding a final glint.

Jenner is hardly the first to go wild for the print. After years of leopard and zebra reigning supreme, fashion’s animal kingdom has welcomed a gentler, more woodland-inspired contender. Katie Holmes was an early adopter, stepping out in deer-spotted Tory Burch, while Sofia Richie Grainge gave the pattern her quiet-luxury seal of approval with a jacket and sleeveless maxi dress in the debut collection of her label, SRG. On the runways, the interpretations have been considerably more daring. For spring 2027, LaQuan Smith made Bambi print decidedly grown-up, working it into barely-there minidresses, sculpted jackets, and slinky combinations with flashes of lilac lingerie. Baum und Pferdgarten got in on the action by incorporating the motif into its playful, ballet-inspired collection. Elsewhere, British label Cawley Studio has taken a more heritage-minded approach, offering deer-spotted leather flying jackets and pillbox hats, while Carelli has brought the pattern into the realm of plush, statement-making outerwear.

There’s a surprising amount of versatility to the Bambi print. Where leopard has long carried a certain strain of bombshell bravado (remember the “mob wife” trend of yore?), deer spots feel softer and more romantic. Rendered in caramel and cream shades, it works particularly well with fall’s appetite for textures, suede, shearling, and rich, earthy tones. But, as Kylie Jenner proved, the print can look just as at home under the flashbulbs as it does on a countryside ramble

That was certainly the spirit of the evening. The 2026 LACMA Art+Film Gala red carpet was a veritable parade of shine, sparkle, and high-octane glamour, from Kim Kardashian’s oxblood Gucci sequins to the dramatic cutouts of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Jenner’s metallic deer look fit right in. This fall, fashion has a new creature to fawn over.
