These are the harrowing final words uttered by Navy vet Gerry Martin as he realized he was about to be engulfed by the most destructive volcanic eruption in US history. Martin, 64, was among those monitoring increased activity at Mt St Helens when lava blasted from the ridge in Washington State on May 18 1980, killing 57 people.
