Americans are fleeing to southern states, lured in by the low cost of living and absence of a state income tax, census data revealed. An estimated 611,942 people moved from their home states to Texas and approximately 636,933 moved to Florida from 2022 to 2023, according to the data released in October. California lost the most residents to Texas, with an estimated 93,970 people relocating to the Lone Star State.
