Sex testing must be obligatory in sport again after the gender row which engulfed women's boxing at the Paris Olympics, according to a report by senior United Nations adviser. Former Team GB swimmer and silver medallist Sharron Davies has backed the report, branding the International Olympics Committee 'shameful' for 'their terrible history of not protecting women in sport'. Algeria's Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting both won boxing golds this summer despite the discredited International Boxing Association purportedly detecting male XY chromosomes in tests the year before and throwing them out of the World Championships.
